Brenda Carmichael

Club Owner/ Head Coach

The owner of GymNation Gymnastics and Trampoline. Brenda has been coaching and involved in gymnastics for over 30 years in Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia. She has coached recreational and competitive artistic gymnastics since 1992 and is a Certified Level 2 Artistic Gymnastics and Level 2 Certified Trampoline coach, a trained level 1 Men's Artistics gymnastics coach,  a two-time certified Personal Trainer, BOSU Specialist, certified in High Five Early Child development, A Certified Tumblebugs Trainer and teaches Acro Tumbling and Acro Yoga. Brenda has managed two large gymnastic clubs in Ontario and owned a Trade Show Production company that presented one of the largest Ladies' Expos in the Province. She was most recently the Assistant Head Coach for Spartan Gymnastics Competitive Team in Truro before leaving to dedicate herself full- time to opening and running GymNation. 

David Brown

Trampoline Coach

Gymnastics has been a lifelong passion for David who has been coaching gymnastics Trampoline and Gymnastics for over 35 years. He began the sport as an athlete training with the Truro Flyers Trampoline Team then the Spartans Gymnastics Club and finally as a member of the UNB Saltos Gymnastics Team. David made the shift to coaching while in University taking on the role as head coach for the Fredericton Eagles gymnastics club which was the largest men’s gymnastics club in New Brunswick at the time. He moved back to Truro to take the head coach position for the YMCA Spartan’s Gymnastics and Trampoline club. He retired from competitive coaching and set up The Tumble Bus mobile movement education to focus on teaching physical literacy skills through gymnastics in early childhood settings. In 2007 David established Jump 2 It Trampoline and Tumbling to provide an opportunity for kids to enjoy gymnastics and trampoline and to develop leadership skills in youth who practice as junior coaches.

David is a level 3 coach in Trampoline and Tumbling and Men’s artistic gymnastics and a level 2 in Women’s artistic gymnastics. He has served as Canada Games Coach for New Brunswick in Men’s gymnastics and Nova Scotia Provincial coach to Canadian National championships many times and as a team coach to World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships in 1994 and 1996. Retired from competitive coaching David continues to facilitate coach development workshops for Gymnastics Nova Scotia, Gymnastics Canada and the Coaching Association of Canada as a Learner facilitator for Gymnastics and Trampoline and Tumble Bugs. David is the Technical Director for Gymnastics Nova Scotia

Samantha LeJeune

Chelsea Joudrey

Recreational and Competitive Coach

 Chelsea has been involved in gymnastics for the past 15 years. She became an athlete at the age of 5, began to compete at the age of 12 and continues to train and compete provincially. She began coaching at the age of 14  and has coached children between the ages of 3 - 12 years from Kindergym to competitive levels. She is certified in both Artistic and Trampoline Level 1. She has represented Nova Scotia in both Atlantics and Eastern Championships. She currently coaches the pre-competitive team here at GymNation. 

Amanda Gaudet

Recreational  Coach

Amanda is a certified level 1 gymnastics coach, as well as being trained in trampoline. She has been working with Jump 2 It Trampoline & Tumbling for 6 years.

Amanda also successfully owns and operates a home daycare.
